Japan Defeats the Caribbean in Second Game of the 2007 Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, PA (August 17, 2007)… After a brief rain delay and some questionable weather forecasts during Game One of the 2007 Little League Baseball World Series, Game Two kicked off under sunny skies for Japan and the Caribbean, the first two international teams to take to the field at this year’s series.

After a tough start for Japan, the Caribbean team set the standard for the game when left fielder, Rileyson Liberia hit a home-run during his first at-bat. Japan answered with a series of well executed plays, including some by Hiroki Takewaki and Kanta Hiraide, that continued throughout the game helping them come from behind to win 10 – 3.

Japan’s next game will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20 at Howard J. Lamade Stadium. The Caribbean will face the Transatlantic team at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19 at Little League Volunteer Stadium.

ESPN will have an on-site set in Williamsport throughout the Little League World Series, serving as a host position during game coverage and in providing content for studio programming. Erin Andrews and Karl Ravech will share hosting responsibilities with ESPN analysts, reporters and guests. Baseball Tonight will originate from Williamsport Tuesday, Aug. 21 through Thursday, Aug. 23.
