Little League® Baseball and Softball will hold its Georgia Challenger Jamboree at the Warner Robins, Ga. American Little League Complex on Saturday, May 18. More than 150 children with developmental and physical challenges are expected to participate in the jamboree.

“Hundreds of Little League Baseball and Softball players come through the Warner Robins American Little League Complex on their way to one of our World Series events, and we are thrilled that so many of our Challenger Division players get a similar opportunity,” Sam Ranck, Director of the Challenger Division, said. “Our jamborees are celebrations of all that is good about baseball and softball, and thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, these children with special needs are able to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

Established in 1989, the Little League Challenger Division® provides boys and girls with physical and developmental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, the opportunity to enjoy all that the sport of baseball has to offer. More than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide. This year, Little Leaguers will be able to participate in 13 Challenger Jamborees in 12 states. The boys and girls take part in a baseball game with a variety of other activities throughout the weekend. For more information on the Challenger Division, visit LittleLeague.org.

Games at the Georgia Challenger Jamboree begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 and run throughout the day. All participating players will receive medals and shirts, and players and coaches will receive lunch thanks to the support of local business. This is the third annual Georgia Challenger Jamboree, and the second year in a row that Warner Robins has hosted the event.
